SAH is committed to continuously improving accessibility for patients and visitors with disabilities.
The 2009 SAH Accessibility Plan outlines past accomplishments as well as the course of action for 2009. We invite you to take a look at the SAH Accessibility Plan and provide any feedback you may have on how to improve accessibility at SAH.
Accessibility Features at SAH:
Elevators
All elevators are accessible.
General Site elevators equipped with Braille buttons.
Entrances
All public entrances are accessible.
All are at ground level and without curbing.
Equipped with automatic or sliding doors.
Parking
Designated parking spaces near General Site south entrance, Riverview Centre entrance, and Plummer Site south entrance.
Washrooms
Some washrooms throughout our facility are accessible.
American Sign Language Interpreters
Available upon request.
Amplified Telephone, Pocket Pagers with Vibrate Mode and Teletypewriter (TTY) Devices
These devices are available for people with hearing loss
TTY payphone located near Emergency Department, General Site.
Closed Captioning (CC) available in waiting areas and patient rooms. Contact your caregiver for more information.
Easy Access Doors
Most internal doors are equipped with automatic door openers or have lever handles.
All external doors are a combination of one or more of the following: accessibility buttons or motion detectors.
Handrails
Available in most patient hallways.
Directory Floor Plan Signs
Signs can be found on patient floors as well as inside the Main doors of the General Site and Emergency Department entrance.
Service Animals
Are permitted.
Waiting Areas
Located at most program/service areas.
Wheelchairs
Available at the main entrances and Emergency Department.
