Overview

In early 2007, Sault Area Hospital (SAH) embarked on a journey toward creating a culture of excellence with the ultimate goal of making SAH an outstanding place for staff to work, physicians to practice and patients to receive care.  

This journey will bring SAH one step closer to achieving its vision - to be recognized as the best hospital in Canada and an active partner in the best community healthcare system in the country.

A process called hardwiring excellence will guide our efforts in achieving excellence. The underlying principles for hardwiring excellence include commitment to excellence, measuring the important things, creating a service culture, developing leaders, focusing on employee satisfaction, individual accountability, alignment of behaviours with goals and values, effective communication at all levels and recognizing and rewarding success.  

Organizational goal setting, alignment, and measurement of successes are fundamental in SAH’s approach. SAH is working on working on achieving optimal performance and balance across four key areas or pillars – people , service , quality and financial.
